Accessibility Advisory Collaboratives (A2Cs)

The University of Oregon's ICT Accessibility Committee created three Accessibility Advisory Collaboratives (A2Cs) to help guide critical decisions that will impact people throughout the institution.

Instructional and Administrative Content Accessibility Advisory Collaborative (IACA2C)

Leadership

Co-Chairs: Chloe Barnett and Grey L. Pierce

Basic Information

The Instructional and Administrative Content Accessibility Advisory Collaborative (IACA2C) is composed of instructors and administrative staff and makes recommendations on trainings, resource needs, tools, awareness campaigns, and procedures to ensure that all instructional and administrative content created by employees is fully accessible to people with disabilities. Members of the IACA2C aren't expected to be experts in digital accessibility, technology, or disabilities issues (subject-matter experts help guide the group) - the purpose of the IACA2C is to ensure that decisions that impact instructors and administrative staff are informed and guided by input and feedback from instructors and administrative staff. The group was responsible for the creation of the university's Digital Content Accessibility Training. The IACA2C meets monthly, and members are expected to participate for at least 6 months. For more information, please email Grey L. Pierce (UO Digital Accessibility Architect) at ictaccess@uoregon.edu

Recommendations are made to the ICT Accessibility Committee, and topics are anticipated to include training, reference materials, software/tools, awareness campaigns, evaluation/auditing, policies, procedures, funding, staffing needs, and other services and resources. The IACA2C reports to the ICT Accessibility Committee and will include representation from key stakeholders and groups, including target audiences of trainings and recommendations (faculty, administrative staff), units likely to provide or implement support services, and subject-matter experts. The ICT Accessibility Committee will be responsible for ensuring that IACA2C recommendations it approves are brought to appropriate University executives.
