Tools & Self-Assessment

A digital accessibility evaluation measures the accessibility of the service or content against the legal and technical standards defined by the university, currently the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 AA. Performing regular self-evaluations is the most important way to make sure you are meeting the university's commitment to accessibility, and is a pre-requisite to requesting a professional evaluation.

The steps to performing a full self-evaluation are:

  1. Familiarize yourself with the accessibility guidelines relevant to your role.
  2. Install a few tools to assist you with the evaluation process.
  3. Check your content or service using a combination of tool-assisted and manual evaluations.
