ICT Accessibility Committee

The ICT Accessibility Committee provides oversight and support for policies and procedures related to access, equity, and inclusion for information and communication technologies. This includes services employing information technology and telecommunications equipment used to support the University of Oregon’s mission of exceptional teaching, research, and service as a comprehensive public university.  In concert with the university’s ongoing initiatives for inclusion and diversity, the committee helps ensure that equitable access to our increasing digital environment is available to all.

ICT includes, but is not limited to, web-based, mobile and native applications, media productions and presentations, and other emerging hard- and software technologies and services employing information technology and telecommunications equipment.

This committee is charged to:

  • Assist in the implementation, maintenance, and enforcement of procedures, procurement processes, and accessibility guidelines covering the University of Oregon digital environment to ensure that the university is fulfilling its commitment to accessibility for all and complying with applicable law
  • Advise on accessibility auditing priorities and procedures
  • Periodically review the procedures, resources, and exemption criteria related to ICT accessibility
  • Mediate conflicting risks, priorities, or competing ICT accessibility requirements
  • Review progress on ICT Accessibility goals and monitor compliance with ICT accessibility procedures
  • Advocate for accessible technology initiatives and resources
